Summer Class and Event Schedule

May 2nd – Spring Fling!  9am-5pm

Be the first to see our new look, all of our new products and help us kick off the season in style!  Bring the kids along to create gifts for Mothers day, decorate clay containers and plant with flowers to take home or create a ‘love bug’ planter from a plastic bottle.  All ages are welcome and all supplies are provided.  Special Sales will include early bird discounts on shrubs and perennials and special sneak peeks at what is to come for the season.

May 9th – Grow With Us Kids Clinic 10am-noon

Need a thoughtful gift for mother’s day? Or do you want to help get the kids interested in gardening?  Join us to decorate clay containers and plant with flowers to take home or create a ‘love bug’ planter from a plastic bottle.  All ages are welcome and all supplies are provided.

May 15-17th – Creative Container Contest

Get your creative juices flowing and find an interesting or unique container to plant in. The options are endless so anything goes!  Grand prize is a $25 gift certificate to the garden center! If you need ideas hop on over to our Pinterest page.

June 11th – Wine Bottle Bird Feeder 6:30pm

Bring the girls and help recycle your wine bottles into striking bird feeders that you can hang in your yard.  All you have to do is provide the bottle.  Class fee is $15.  Please register beforehand as class size is limited.

June 13th – Grow With Us Kids Clinic  10am-noon

Build a Butterfly Feeder.  Want to attract more fluttery friends to your yard?  Build this easy butterfly feeder from fun and simple materials and enjoy watching them come to rest and eat. All ages are welcome and all supplies are provided.

June 17th – Container Design 10am

Unsure of what to plant in your containers and baskets this year? Let our experts help you with our great planter combinations.  Bring in your own container or purchase one of ours and you will go home with a beautiful container that is sure to thrill!  Cost is $35 and includes plants, potting soil, and fertilizer for a 12” container.  Class fee will increase accordingly if container is larger.  Please pre-register.

July 2nd – Miniature Gardening 10am

Adults and children of all ages are welcome to come create a home for their tiny garden helpers and join in the new trend.  Bring your own container or choose from one of ours.  We will supply the decorative stones, moss and other landscaping materials.  The rest of the items are available for purchase including plants, furniture, accessories, fairies, gnomes and more! Take it home the same day!  Please pre-register, class size is limited. Cost $5.

July 11th – Grow With Us Kids Clinic  10am-noon

Bring the kids and grand kids to the garden center to learn a bit about birds and create and decorate a bird feeder from recycled plastic bottle.

July 21st – Build a Butterfly House – 10 am

Let’s get busy and create a home for our treasured garden visitors.  Butterflies are an essential part of our gardens and their populations have been declining in recent years.  Quita Sheehan, from Vilas County Zoning, will teach us how to create a yard that attracts butterflies as well as take us step by step through building a butterfly house.  Children are encouraged to come and help us build houses to take back you their yard.  All supplies will be provided, just bring a hammer.  Please pre register.  Class fee will be determined in June.

August 8th – Dog Days of Summer Sales and Events! 

Grow With Us Kids Clinic – 10am – 2pm

Bring the kids and grandkids in to create a fun animal project to take home to their garden.  FREE!!

Brat Cookout for the Humane Society – 10 am – 2pm

– Help Support the Vilas County Humane Society and enjoy fresh brats from Prime Choice Meat Market and fresh baked desserts. Play with some animals that are up for adoption or bring your own for a visit.

September 17th – New Plant Varieties for 2016 from Bailey Nurseries  6pm

Join us in learning about up and coming perennial and shrub varieties from Bailey Nursery, a leader in the plant production industry.  Rick Stemmann of Bailey Nursery will be bringing along samples of the plants to give out to attendees.
